Liberal Messages for Europe

The final workshop took place on 21st of July at Ibis Hotel in Rome. The training team composed of Ciprian Negoiță – moderator, Tudor Tim Ionescu – event organizer and Raimar Wagner – team coordinator has successfully created an interactive and challenging seminar, engaging all the participants in the discussions. The game plan was strictly respected according to the directions previously accepted by both the participants and the organizing team. However, the length of the workshop was slightly changed. It lasted more than 4:30 hours since all the participants were eager to present their personal views and opinions.

A particularity of this workshop lied in the fact that it was directly recorded and distributed online to all the Romanians (interested by this topic but could not attend the seminar due to the limited seats) who lived and worked in Rome. This workshop was attended by active and determined participants from different social and professional backgrounds who contributed a lot in the discussions. According to the list of attendance there were present artists, journalists, medical doctors, construction workers and important entrepreneurs. The first part of the workshop focused on the challenges faced by the traditional parties and their political messages and the rise of populist and extremist movements. However, many of the examples focused only on the Italian political society taking into consideration the policies against the migrants promoted by Movimiento 5 Estrellas and Lega Nord. Afterward, the moderator asked all the participants to identify and debated the problems in Italy and Romania that can be solved with the help of the EU and the role of Romania inside the Union. The results were, to a certain extent, surprising, because they were influenced by the recent events happened in Rome.
