This policy lab will gather policy-makers and experts within the field of digitalisation and human rights from across the global liberal family. The participants will discuss some of the key policy issues surrounding digitalisation and human rights, and work to develop liberal responses to some of the questions which will shape the internet and societies of our future.
Digital technologies have the potential to unite, emancipate, and empower – to share how we interact and the narratives we live by. But, where people’s fundamental human rights are unprotected or political divisions maliciously exacerbated with untruths, they risk escalating a development where democratic norms begin to fray.
This policy lab will gather parliamentarians and experts within the field of digitalisation and human rights from across the global liberal family. The participants will discuss some of the key policy issues surrounding digitalisation and human rights, and work to develop liberal responses to some of the questions which will shape the internet and societies of our future.
An increasingly digital world reshapes our societies and poses a range of questions about what these societies will look like and how individual rights will continue to be respected. This event aims to lay the foundations for a global liberal response for these questions.
This digital event is organised by Liberal International, in partnership with the European Liberal Forum.
