By 2050, the world population is forecasted to reach 9 billion people and climate change and resource scarcity will intensify. One of the biggest goals for current generations is to achieve climate goals with liberal approaches. The question of how we manage the transition to an ecologically sustainable economic and industrial system is often answered with a frontloading of new regulations and bans, hence fostering illiberal solutions.

It is unlikely that these solutions will provide the necessary policy reforms or give companies incentives to develop innovative approaches. At the same time, energy, environmental and climate protection issues are not new and liberal parties, both internally and in the perception of voters, quite often have difficulties addressing climate & environmental policies effectively. Hence establishing a narrative, why liberalism/ liberal parties are most suitable to address these issues.

This workshop aims to define a common liberal framework on climate policies. Moreover, by discussing best practices and established systems to tackle climate change, the outcome of the workshop might be a fruitful base for hands-on liberal solutions. The whole event takes 2 hours, and a protocol will be made and send to participates.
