The project follows four previous ELF projects organized by ELF in cooperation with the IPPS and other member´s organizations. This project will be focused on the relationship between the US and the EU – two key global partners – is going through a complicated period.  

The discussion will be divided into several dimensions focusing on topics such as the partnership between the UK and the USA after Brexit. It will be very important to see how the agreements between the two great powers continue. Between the two continents, there is a threat of a trade war. 

Unusually sharp rhetoric has been used by both the European and the American sides. The current functioning of NATO and its future is at the centre of this tension.The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) – reached by Iran, China, France, Germany, Russia, the United Kingdom, the US and the European Union – sets out rigorous mechanisms for monitoring restrictions placed on Iran’s nuclear programme, while paving the way for the lifting of UN sanctions against Iran.
